Skin Sensitivities, Allergies, Jewelry Lengths and Weight Info

Hey-oooo!

Please remember, we are not doctors and cannot give you medical advice. Everyone’s bodies are different and react differently to different materials and have different tolerances. Please consult a physician for questions in regards to allergies.

If you have ever ripped your ear lobe causing it to have much less of a tolerance for heavier earrings, then PLEASE take this into consideration before purchasing or deciding to keep your jewelry after purchase. Here at Bud’s Bold Bijoux, beauty is NOT pain. Do not force yourself to keep a pair of jewelry that is uncomfortable. Message us and we can discuss some options or alternatives.

Before wearing your bold jewelry, we highly recommend conducting a skin reaction test on your hand/wrist. You can try rubbing the metal against a clear patch of your skin for say 20 seconds? And then check after a minute and then 10 minutes to see if you have a rash, redness, swelling, etc. If you do have a reaction, then we do not recommend wearing the jewelry. Again, we are not doctors. For questions or concerns about skin sensitivities or allergies, please contact your doctor/physician.

Even Mattie has torn her ear lobe (way back before I started making jewelry. I just wanted to wear my mom’s Winnie the Pooh earrings) causing the amount of weight her earlobe can handle to be less than the average person.

Most people can generally comfortably handle up to 9 grams of weight in one earring. This is not a guarantee. We highly recommend wearing your jewelry for a short period of time the first wear to ensure you do not have a skin reaction and that the weight is comfortable.

Our jewelry is Adult Fashion jewelry, meaning it is intended for people over the age of 12 and not intended for everyday wear. Please ensure you clean your jewelry before and after each use to avoid infections from outside particles and bacteria. Apply hairspray, body sprays, makeup, etc before wearing the jewelry as this could cause faster tarnishing, bead or metal discoloration, or a skin reaction.

I’m no pro or doctor but I wash all of my jewelry (yes, I make my own jewelry even though I have stretched ears.) I clean my ears and jewelry with warm water and Gold Dial soap before and after I wear them. There are many resources online for how to care for your jewelry and we'll even include a reference doc for you in your physical order.

I wear the jewelry I make because I would not sell anything that I would not wear myself.

We found some resources that might be helpful and have pinned them on our Pinterest:

Use this as a guide, not professional advice. Remember, be you. Be bold. Be safe.

This is a representation of roughly where jewelry lands by measurement. This is measured in millimeters, therefore, we measure our jewelry in millimeters as well for your ease.
